How We Rate Slots & Casinos

Rankings are earned, not bought. Here's the whole method, in the open.

This page exists so you never have to guess what’s behind a number on this site. If something here isn’t clear, that’s a bug — tell us.

What we rate, and on what

Slots are mapped against a fixed set of attributes so you can compare like with like:

We don’t invent numbers we can’t defend. A slot’s RTP is a published, checkable fact; we quote it and flag where casinos run a lower build. We will never assert a figure we can’t stand behind.

Casinos are scored on the things that actually affect a South African player: the breadth of the slot library, genuine rand support, banking options (EFT, Ozow, vouchers, crypto), and how painless it is to get paid. Welcome offers and payout times change constantly, so we describe them qualitatively and tell you to confirm the current terms on the casino’s own site. Game availability is based on which studio catalogues a casino has integrated — which is how casino libraries actually work.

How we make money — plainly

Where we link to a casino, that link may earn us a commission. That’s how the site is funded. It does not change:

When a commercial partnership influences what you see — a featured placement, say — we label it. Independence isn’t a slogan here; it’s the entire reason the site is worth reading. More on that on our about page.

Common questions

Does SlotSite take money to rank slots higher?

No. A slot's place in our lists comes from its published RTP, how its volatility actually plays, and whether the bonus round earns its hype. Commercial arrangements never change a ranking. Where a partnership touches a list, we label it.

Where do your RTP numbers come from?

From the game studio's published return-to-player figures and paytables. Where a slot ships multiple RTP builds, we record the variants and flag that casinos may run a lower one. The in-game paytable is always the final source of truth.

Stop guessing which slots pay.

Start with the real RTPs and a volatility you can actually afford to ride out.
